Service Northamptonshire's Community Resilience Service - Coronavirus Support Line

The support line allows those who cannot leave their homes under current restrictions and those who have nobody to call upon for help, to request support in getting access to food, prescriptions and other vital services that they require. The new support line number is 0300 126 1000 (option 5)

Helping Out Higham and Rushden - a 500 strong, volunteer group set up as a response to the Coronavirus: This group is for community members to come together and help those in vulnerable positions: Shopping, Dog Walking, collecting prescriptions and running local errands. If you are in need of assistance, then please contact them via Facebook or email. If you are willing to volunteer your time and help others, then please get in touch with them through their Facebook or email below.

Delivering in Rushden and Higham - a one stop shop for local delivery services Many local businesses are doing their very best to keep serving the community of Rushden and Higham Ferrers during the uncertainty of the Coronavirus outbreak. While their doors may be closing to help keep customers safe, many are offering delivery and collection services, which could really help at a time when we're all being encouraged to take part in some social distancing. The Swivel Club - providing a service free of charge which will include shopping etc Monday - Friday for those who are isolated in their homes during this period of Covid-19. The number to call is 01933 270646 and ask for Carol, between the hours 10am-6pm.

Rushden Mind - Have now published new virtual services for anyone wishing to stay connected and access a variety of handpicked resources. Daily Zoom opportunities where staff will be checking in to see how everyone is, and a whole new schedule of activities from Mindfulness, Creative Writing, Art Classes and Emotional Support. The food bank have recently appealed for donations and 'bag for life' carrier bags so that they can continue to provide food packages to those in need.

Homes Direct - During the current Coronavirus pandemic, please contact Homes Direct by telephone in the first instance if you require housing advice.

East Northamptonshire Council - Help with Council Tax Payments

To help residents who have been financially affected by the coronavirus pandemic, ENC is offering the opportunity to stretch Council Tax payments over a 12 month period, rather than the normal 10 months.

If you would like to apply for this, please email rv@east-northamptonshire.gov.uk, but please note that due to the high volume of interest, a reply may take up to and over 14 days. If you know anyone not on email, please ask them to call 01832 742000, but anyone with access to email should apply this way to free up their phones for anyone not online.

Local Business Help & Advice

East Northamptonshire Council (ENC) Business Support Funds - to provide financial grants to those companies in need.

The Council is urging business owners to come forward. The grants are in in addition to the £12m Expanded Retail Relief that ENC has already awarded to businesses across East Northants.

If a business in the district hasn't already been contacted by ENC, then they are advised to contact customerservices@east-northamptonshire.gov.uk for further details and assistance.
