Shop local in Rushden & Higham Ferrers

The "Shop Local in Rushden and Higham Ferrers High Streets" booklet containing over 48 redeemable discount vouchers was compiled and produced recently by Rushden and Higham Ferrers Town Councils.

Over 1500 booklets were given out to visitors at our Heritage Family Fun Day on 16th September at Rushden Lakes, a further 500 booklets have been distributed amongst the shops on both High Streets.

Over 35 local businesses and community groups were pleased to be attend the heritage day event and feedback has been extremely positive from all parties. Entertainment at the event included performances from Rushden Town Band, medieval fun and entertainment, heritage displays, family activities and a chance for the Higham Chichele Society to launch their fascinating, illustrated timeline of Higham Ferrers plus an excellent chance to browse the local business stalls.

Other giveaways handed out on the day included approximately 500 promotional shopping bags containing interesting local literature aimed to encourage new visitors to come and explore the nearby towns.

The aim of the Heritage Family Fun Day and Shop Local Shopping Voucher Booklet was not only to raise awareness of all that is available in Rushden and Higham Ferrers but also to showcase the local heritage and offer a snippet of information about the local history.

There is still time to redeem many of the shopping vouchers in Rushden and Higham Ferrers High Streets, why not come in and see what is on offer.
