A new project which brings together technology, history and art has launched in Rushden along the Greenway between Crown Way and the town centre.

Rushden Town Council and the Royal British Legion will be joining others across the country to light a beacon in remembrance of all those who fought and died in the First World War.
Please join us at Rushden Hall, Hall Park, Rushden at 6.30pm to pay tribute on Sunday 11th November 2018.

The Royal British Legion (Rushden Branch) Remembrance Service and Parade will be held at the Rushden War Memorial, at 10.50am, on the 11th November 2018.
From 10.15am the Parade will form at Robinson Road, ready to march off at 10.35am, to the War Memorial.

A Service and two minutes silence was held today at the Garden of Remembrance in Rushden. A Bible reading was given by Padre Rev Linnet Smith and a Poem, In Flanders Fields by John McRoe, was read by the Mayor of Rushden. After the readings, pupils from Rushden Academy, Alfred Street Junior School and Whitefriars planted crosses to honour those who gave their lives.

The Nene Wetlands Visitor Centre at Rushden Lakes are looking for local bands and or choirs to sing / play at their Festive Events on December 8th and 9th between 10am and 4pm.

Celebrate Rushden 2019 will be held between 8 and 16 June 2019. If you are a business or organisation within the Town you can be part of the celebrations too by organising your own event or link in with another business or organisation for a joint activity.
The Town Council will fully publicise your event and may be able to give some financial support.

Northamptonshire Highways are requiring to carry out urgent repairs to the southbound carriageway of the A6 bypass. To complete the works safely will need the road to be closed for one night between 8pm and 6am and it is expected that the works will take place on the 6th November 2018.

Fireworks Refund Update -
Refunds are available Sunday 4th Nov 10am - 12 midday and Monday 5th Nov 6pm to 8pm at Rushden Scout HQ (behind Orbit Tyres), more times to follow on Nene Valley Scouts website & Facebook pages. The shops have had their funds collected so please do not return to them - this was for Saturday only.
