Face covering guidance for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies

Face covering guidance for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies

A message from the Registration Service at Northamptonshire County Council:

With effect from the 8th August there is new guidance on the use of face coverings. Please see the new guidance below:

Face coverings will be required in places of worship. This applies to guests at weddings and civil partnership ceremonies including those taking place in register offices or other approved venues. Face coverings will NOT have to be worn by the bride, groom or civil partners once the marriage/civil partnership is taking place but may need to be worn prior and post the ceremony if the place of marriage require it. For the purposes of photographs and the removal of masks for this purpose, it should be encouraged to do this in an outdoor space. Our staff will still observe the 2 meter distancing as per our risk assessment.
