The Queen's Green Canopy
Rushden Town Council have planted trees across the town as part of the Green Canopy Trees initiative which represent 21 councillors who have served on the Town Council. A variety of trees have been chosen ranging from Hornbeam, Beech, Oak, Silver Birch, Rowan, Acers and Flowering Cherry.
Tree's have been planted in the following locations:
- Hilly Farm for Sartoris Ward Members – Cllrs Steven North and posthumously for Cllr Ron Pinnock
- The Mallards for Pemberton ward members – Cllrs Gill Mercer, Janet Pinnock, Tracey Smith, Kaye Rawlins and Melanie Coleman
- Melloway Park for Spencer Ward members – Cllrs Andy Mercer, Cesare Marinaro and posthumously for Cllr Sarah Peacock
- Spencer Park for Spencer ward members – Cllrs Paul Harley and Carol Childs
- Tweed Crescent for Hayden Ward members – Cllrs Marian Hollomon, Richard Lewis, Barbara Jenney, Phillip Humphrey and Posthumously for Colin Wright
- Oakpits way for Bates Ward – Cllrs Adrian House and Adrian Winkle and posthumously for Cllr David Jenney
- Hall Park for Sartoris Ward – Cllr David Coleman. Over 35 trees have been planted across the town with a number of additional trees being planted at the request of residents and councillors to enhance the landscape of the town.
