*Recent Community Grants awarded by Rushden Town Council*East Northants Community Services - ENCS have been awarded £3,200 to help fund the Church Street Project which aims to help the homeless people within the town. Today The Red Ensign Flag was raised at the Cenotaph to commemorate Merchant Navy Day 2021.
Town Mayor, Cllr Melanie Coleman joined the service to pay her respects.
Merchant Navy Day is dedicated to honour the brave men and women who kept the 'island nation' afloat during both World Wars and for the modern seafarers who are responsible for UK imports.

High Street South, Rushden - Road Closure 7th September - 9th September
Anglian Water are requiring to carry out works to a leaking pipe on High Street South in Rushden.
To undertake the work safely will require that the road is closed from the 7th September until the 9th September 2021.

Newton Road, Rushden - Road Closure 15th September - 17th September 2021
Anglian Water are intending on installing a new water connection outside 296 Newton Road in Rushden.
To undertake this work safely will require that the road is closed for up to three days from the 15th September 2021.

Highways England - A45 Chowns Mill - Project update and road closure information.
From Monday 6 September the Chowns Mill junction will be controlled by the new traffic lights system, traffic will travel through the new A45 central carriageway and the A6 Bypass / Higham Ferrers traffic will travel around the gyratory of the new 'half hamburger' island.

Last Saturday, Town Mayor, Cllr Melanie Coleman met with participants to show her support at the start of a 74k March (1km for each day of the conflict in the Falkands) to raise money for the Falklands Veterans Foundation (FVF) and Liberty Lodge, the first UK charity for Falklands veterans and their immediate families.
