Burials have taken place at Newton Road Cemetery since the late 1880s. Originally managed by Rushden Urban District Council, the cemetery was later taken over by the former East Northamptonshire District Council.

In 2000, when Rushden Town Council was formed, they assumed responsibility for its management. Burial and grave purchase records dating back to 1887 are available for public inspection. Additionally, a comprehensive database of recorded burials is maintained, and we frequently assist individuals seeking to locate relatives' graves.

Rushden Town Council oversees the purchase of graves within the cemetery and manages all burial administration. Grounds maintenance is carried out by contractors on behalf of the council. A member of staff is usually available on-site to assist visitors from 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 7:30am to 1:00pm on Friday.
