Hall Park – Beech Tree Update

Following extensive monitoring and professional arboricultural assessments, the historic Beech tree in Hall Park has been removed in 2025 due to significant deterioration and disease linked to fire damage sustained many years ago.

Despite ongoing care and regular health inspections, the condition of the tree worsened, resulting in the loss of a major limb and presenting an increasing safety risk to park users. As a result, removal became necessary to ensure the continued safe use and enjoyment of the area.

Where possible, sections of healthy timber have been repurposed to create new benches, which will be installed throughout Hall Park.

In addition, the tree's base has been retained and has been developed into a planter feature, ensuring the Beech tree continues to form part of the park's landscape for years to come.

Refurbished Dog Bins Installed

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving public amenities across Rushden, we have completed another step in our town enhancement programme.

Three refurbished dog waste bins have been reinstalled at key locations:

  • Oakpits Open Space
  • Rose Avenue Park
  • Mallards Open Space

These bins were previously removed for refurbishment and have now been returned to service, replacing the next set scheduled for upgrade. This rolling initiative ensures cleaner, more functional facilities for residents and visitors alike.
